Bubbly II – New Year’s Day 6-9pm

imageI had such a great turnout at the last one and so many requests for another so here it is: New Year’s Day Bubbly tasting. I can’t think of a better way to start the year off right. The bubbles are an every day wine even though we treat it as a “special occasion” drink. Friday January 1st, 6-9pm we are tasting six of my favorite, (all different), value sparkling wines. I will have some tasty cheese on hand to break up your palate. The tasting is $15 in advance, $20 the day of. Email stpetewinesmith@gmail.com for advance tickets, call 727-826-0791 or stop by the store.
Must be 21 to attend. Cheers!

2014 Clos du Chapitre Viré-Clessé Bourgogne

100% Chardonnay. Bracing chalky minerals, lime, pear and fresh cream scents on the zesty nose.  Scents transition to the palate with a lively acidity leading into the creamy, dry, mineral-driven finish. Refreshing and tasty. The balance of Burgundian Chardonnay can’t be matched. $19.99

2014 Ettore Germano Hérzu Riesling Langhe

Petrol, hay, sugar cube, white peach and lime zest scents make my mouth water. Scents transition to flavors effortlessly with bracing acidity and soft minerals supporting.  Crisp and dry on the finish with a palate-coating, oily texture carrying the peach and lime flavors joined by a distinct white pepper note.  This is delicious. I’m thinking Pad Thai; any sweet/sour dish and this wine will shine.  Even curry. I love it when a wine makes me hungry. $27.99
