A field of the prettiest roses you’ve ever smelled in your life, strawberry, glycerin, saddle leather, hay, pencil shavings, dry mustard, toast and fine minerals on the gorgeous, gorgeous nose. I could smell this all day. Scents transition seamlessly to the palate with fresh plum, tobacco leaf, black tea, pepper and spice flavors supporting. Finishes dry, savory, complex and meaty with waves of plum, rare beef, truffle, glycerin, spice and fine minerals.  I haven’t had a wine experience like this in a while, but it’s why I love being in the business. Shelter Dogs With Jobs Benefit Wine Tasting – Wednesday September 14th, 7-9pm

Please join us Wednesday September 14th, 7-9pm for a special wine tasting in benefit for Shelter Dogs With Jobs. Their mission is to save, train and place homeless dogs in forever homes and careers as patrol, detection, service, therapy and search and rescue dogs. They support other dog related 501c3’s by placing high drive dogs who are not easily adoptable as pets in a role of public service.
We will be tasting 15 of my latest and greatest wines in the store. Dan from Eat This! will be providing us with his amazing charcuterie and other tasty bites. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of with 50% of the door proceeds and 10% of retail wine sales during the tasting benefiting Shelter Dogs With Jobs. 2015 Vignaioli Morellino Scansano Ciliegiolo Capoccia Maremma Toscana

imageCiliegiolo and Alicante blend from Southern Tuscany. Hay, smoked red meats, briary seed and thyme scents. This smells wild and rustic. Black cherry and plum up front with black tea, strong minerals, clay and fresh tobacco notes supporting. Mouthwatering plum, steel, savory herbs and spices carry through the long, dry, rustic finish. Purely delicious. Serve this with any grilled meats and you’ll be in heaven. Absolutely mouthwatering and delicious. A steal for $11.99.

2010 Poggio Foco Cecco Cabernet Sauvignon Sovana Rosso

Deep, earthy scents of cassis, blackberry, leather and savory spices. Scents are joined by up front minerals on the chewy, tannin-driven palate. Finishes strong and dry with bright blackberry and gripping tannins carrying through. A substantial, rustic, and damn tasty unoaked Cabernet for under $20.
