2014 Ettore Germano Hérzu Riesling Langhe

Petrol, hay, sugar cube, white peach and lime zest scents make my mouth water. Scents transition to flavors effortlessly with bracing acidity and soft minerals supporting.  Crisp and dry on the finish with a palate-coating, oily texture carrying the peach and lime flavors joined by a distinct white pepper note.  This is delicious. I’m thinking Pad Thai; any sweet/sour dish and this wine will shine.  Even curry. I love it when a wine makes me hungry. $27.99

Yellow apple, pear, white peach, brisk lemon/lime and chalky mineral scents are enticing. Clean and fresh on the palate; mineral driven with hints of fresh cream joining the scent flavors. Finishes dry with vanilla bean, crisp citrus and chalky minerals lingering. Beautiful, balanced Chardonnay; can’t beat it for $15.

The commune (or village) of Uchizy produces only Chardonnay from its east facing slopes under the Macon appellation in Burgundy, France.
