January Friday Wine Tastings

Blind – Friday January 4th, 6-9pm

First Friday January 4th, 6-9pm we are tasting Blind. Blind means the wines will be brown-bagged so you don’t know what you’re tasting until after. I ask that you be here at 6, 7 or 8pm as we will taste and reveal the wines in groups. This tasting is $15 per person; no tickets necessary.

Dry Rosé – Friday January 11th, 6-9pm

Friday January 11th in the 6-9pm window we are tasting dry rosé: a natural old vine Carignan from Mendocino, a Pinot/Gamay Loire beauty, a Cabernet Franc Loire beauty , a fresh, bright Spanish Grenache/Monastrell, a natural Mourvèdre/Tempranillo Cali blend and a crisp, fresh rosé Cava. All DRY. This tasting is $15/person; no tickets necessary.

French Wines Under $14.99 – Friday January 18th, 6-9pm

Friday January 18th in the 6-9pm window we are tasting amazing French wines under $14.99: a delicious Loire Sauvignon Blanc, a brooding Roussillon Syrah blend, a natural, rustic Bordeaux, a classic Chinon Cab Franc, a floral, Grenache based Ventoux and a heady, meaty Côtes-du-Rhône. This tasting is $15/person; no tickets necessary.

Natty Christmas – Friday December 21st, 6-9pm

Friday December 21st, 6-9pm we are tasting some of my newest Natural Wines in the shop: Broc Cellars Amore Rosso (limited – Sangiovese), Broc Cellars Love White (Rhône blend), a savory Spanish Monastrell, a rustic, barn-yardy Chilean Malbec, a bold, grippy Chilean Cab/Carignan/Syrah blend and the best País I’ve ever had. It’s how we end every year: Bubbly.

Friday December 28th, 6-9pm we’re tasting Bubbly: a bone dry Brut Nature Chilean Riesling/Chardonnay (a new fave), a fucking gorgeous Cremant de Bourgogne, a sparkling País Blanc de Noir and Rosé (both dry), Swick’s Pinot Noir Rosé Pet Nat and an unfiltered Trebbiano based Italian. Four years ago I made my first sale at Winesmith. Wednesday August 22nd, 7-9pm we will be tasting a bunch of my new favorites and some classics in celebration.
